Try some of these Cycling routes
The Family Ride – 14 miles round trip
Start at Harpham
Flats. Follow the road downriver to Sherar’s Falls. Turn around and
ride back to Harpham. The road is paved the entire way and is level.
The Adventurer – 26 mile loop
Start at Maupin
City Park. Head down river. At the stop sign turn left and cross the
Deschutes River over Sherar’s Bridge. Past Sherar’s Falls the road
takes a right turn and heads up hill. Follow to the intersection of
US-197 and turn left. Take US-197 into the town of Maupin. Continue
down the hill crossing the Deschutes River. Turn left onto the
Deschutes River access Road. Just past the Imperial is Maupin City
Park. This route is paved the entire way, but is challenging because of
the hills.
The Mountain Biker – 48 miles round trip
Start at Sherar’s Falls. Head down river. At the stop sign turn right. Look for the Deschutes River Access Road on your left. Follow this gravel road to the end at Mack’s Canyon. Turn around and return to Sherar’s Falls. There are some hills, but the road is mostly flat as it follows the river.
